Your Child’s Place is a specialized pediatric childcare center for infants and children who require skilled nursing care while their parents or caregivers work or study.

Registered Nurses and childcare professionals at Your Child’s Place provide medical care, daily instruction, supervision, and socialization in a friendly and nurturing environment.

Children are challenged to learn and grow in a classroom, and those who require special instruction, speech, occupational, physical, or nutrition therapies may have those services delivered onsite and incorporated into their day.

We are licensed by the Department of Health and the Department of Human Services and operate under the supervision of a Medical Director.

Who it’s for

Your Child’s Place is designed for children at least 6 weeks of age with serious ongoing illnesses or chronic conditions that require constant or periodic medical treatment or the use of medical devices.

Your Child’s Place offers:

Children are challenged to learn and grow in a classroom organized by developmental stage.

We provide educational guidance, collaborative care, support groups, and interactive training to keep you engaged with your child’s growth.

Your Child’s Place can meet short-term needs for outpatient rehabilitation or nursing care, long-term medical needs, including the use of ventilators, and surgery recovery.

Get started with Your Child’s Place

Step one

Complete our pre-screening process to determine if you will meet our eligibility requirements.

We accommodate:

  • Children who are at least 6 weeks of age with complex medical needs.
  • Children who qualify for in-home nursing services.
  • Children who need continuous or periodic monitoring with an acute need for outpatient rehabilitation or nursing care.
  • Children who have long-term medical needs, including those who need short-term care in a supervised environment until they recover, are ventilator-dependent, or recently underwent surgery

Step two

Contact our team to arrange a tour and interview if you believe your child is eligible for services.

Step three

Confirm eligibility by securing a qualifying medical diagnosis(es) and a medical prescription (Letter of Medical Necessity) from your child’s pediatrician. We will also need proof of your (or the primary caregiver’s) work or school status.

Step four

We will contact your insurance company for approval and payment. Your insurance company will determine final approval based on your child’s medical needs.

Common questions about Your Child’s Place

Our extended care center is open to children who:

  • Are at least 6 weeks of age with complex medical needs
  • Qualify for in-home nursing services
  • Have a short-term need for outpatient rehabilitation or nursing care
  • Have long-term medical needs including those who are ventilator-dependent
  • Have either recently undergone surgery or need short-term care in a supervised environment until they recover

Contact us to determine if your child would qualify for medical daycare services. If your child meets the qualifications, we will set up a tour.

Your Child’s Place maintains contracts with 3 major insurance companies and can negotiate contracts with smaller companies to cover costs. Additionally, a child’s Medical Assistance can be utilized to compensate for services.

With a letter of medical necessity from your child’s doctor, Your Child’s Place will work with the insurance company to obtain authorization for medical daycare services.

Your Child’s Place does not provide transportation. Each child’s parents are responsible for the transportation of their child. Children who depart the center for preschool or other educational services must coordinate transportation with their school.

Yes, children may attend Your Child’s Place full-time or part-time. On days they attend, children must arrive before 10am, unless other arrangements have been made. Some insurance companies require your child to be at Your Child’s Place for a minimum of 6 hours a day.

Yes, children who attend Your Child’s Place regularly and have reached the age of 3 may begin attending outside special education programs. Under the child’s insurance company requirements, the child may receive before/after school care as long as the center can accommodate.

Children who qualify for Early Intervention and school-age programs may have their services delivered at Your Child’s Place through outside agencies. Physician-prescribed services are available based on individual need. Early Intervention therapists are encouraged to conduct their visits at Your Child’s Place.

Your Child’s Place is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We’re closed on weekends and major holidays.

The center is licensed to accommodate up to 30 children.

Your Child’s Place is dually licensed by the Department of Health, as a Pediatric Extended Care Center, and by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services as a Child Care Center.

Your Child’s Place operates under the typical regulations set forth by the Department of Human Services regarding illnesses. The child must depart the center within 1 ½ hours of receiving a call that the child is sick and may not return for 24 hours after start of fever and/or after an antibiotic has been prescribed if applicable.
